What is the Gilbert Center?
The Gilbert Center carries forward the combined legacies of artists Kit Gilbert and Ross Lynn, offering a dynamic and inclusive space that celebrates the arts and nurtures the creative spirit. It embodies their passion for creativity, their dedication to fostering artistic talent, and their vision of creating space for the enrichment of lives.
The Gilbert Center is not merely a place; it is a living testament to the power of art to unite, inspire, and transform, making it a vibrant jewel in the cultural tapestry of Downtown Ruston and a haven for those who seek to explore and appreciate the beauty of human creativity.
Our Work
At the Gilbert Center, everything we do falls into threes categories: Education, Exhibitions, and Events. Whether learning a new skill, discovering art, or gathering with your community, you’ll find a place here.
Education
Creativity is a practice — and like any practice, it grows with learning. Our workshops support the full creative life: mastering techniques, understanding yourself as a creative, and the business of making art .
Exhibitions
Our gallery brings artists and community together through solo, group, and juried exhibitions. Shows rotate regularly, giving local and visiting artists a place to share their work.
Events
Something is always happening at the Gilbert Center. From exhibition openings and artist talks to brunches, markets, and community nights — our events are open to everyone.
