4-H Discovery Club
This past October, we launched a brand new program, the RLCF 4-H Discovery Club in The Gilbert Center! The Discovery Club is an art experience for Lincoln Parish 4-H students and is funded by the Jonesboro State Bank Pledge10 grant.
Through the Discovery Club, the Lincoln Parish students are able to create, learn, and discover different avenues of artistic expression with the guidance of local artists as instructors. In October, the students explored the world of rubber printmaking under the talented direction of Maggie Boudreaux in the Gilbert Center. During December’s Discovery Day, Dylan Sanders showed the students how to explore the world of digital illustration using the Procreate program on iPads in the Creatives At Work gallery. RLCF’s iPads were funded through a prior year’s project focused solely on digital illustration that was also funded by a Pledge10 grant. It was a fun opportunity for our talented students to unlock a whole new level of creativity within themselves.
There are still more RLCF 4-H Discovery Days ahead in 2024 along with an exhibition of some of the work created by the students in summer 2024. We are grateful for this partnership with the Lincoln Parish 4-H Club and the generous support of Jonesboro State Bank Pledge10 Grant.
