RLCF sees lots of activity at 2021 Sunflower Festival

We had a great time this year during the 2021 Sunflower Trail & Festival! It was a joy to see everyone who stopped by to view the exhibit inside the commissary, browse the vendor booths we had outside, visit with our plein air artists, or grab some BBQ.

This year in the commissary, RLCF hosted a solo show by Shreveport artist Dr. Patrick Sewell. His body of work depicts life and it’s character through the use of bold colors and found objects. Pat’s work was for sale with the proceeds benefiting both the Ross Lynn Foundation and the Eternal Family Project. The show was a great success and we cannot thank Pat Sewell enough for his creativity and generosity.

As a new addition this year to the Sunflower Trail & Festival, RLCF recruited 13 artists from the Shreveport/Bossier area to spend the morning along the trail painting plein air. Calling the event Plein Air 3049, we had a great turnout with artists of a variety of styles capturing the trail’s beauty while sharing with visitors who stopped by. The participating artists included Hillary Frazier, Tess Pepitone, Jim Huckabay, Mike Torma, Linda Moss, Michael Miller, Caz Robledo, Sherri Skrivanos, Denise Sanders, Curtis Harrist, and Robin Clawson.

You can view the artwork created by the plein air artists during the Heritage & Harvest tour in late September.
